

About Me:
Adesoji Adesina graduated from the University of Lagos in 1980 with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He subsequently received a PhD (Chemical Engineering) in 1986 from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He taught briefly (1986-89) at the University of Port-Harcourt, Nigeria and for more than two decades was with the School of Chemical Engineering, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia where he rose to full professorship in 2004. There, he built and directed a world-class catalysis and multiphase reaction engineering group. His research activities span the interdisciplinary areas of energy, water and environment where he is credited with over 450 refereed publications. He has supervised to completion more than 160 graduate research students including 50 PhDs and trained several postdoctoral fellows and research associates. In 2017, he was awarded the Nigerian National Merit Award (Engineering/Technology category) by President Muhammadu Buhari, as a distinguished intellectual for his outstanding contributions to the academic, growth and development of Nigeria.
He is on the editorial or advisory boards of major journals in catalysis and chemical engineering. He is a Fellow of major professional bodies, including; the Nigerian Academy of Science, Nigerian Academy of Engineering, Institution of Chemical Engineers (UK) and the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. He has been a visiting Professor to several universities such as; Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne-Switzerland, University of California-Berkeley-USA, Beijing University of Chemical Technology-China and University of Lagos-Nigeria among others.
He is also an expert consultant to several national science and engineering research funding agencies (Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Netherlands, South Africa, USA & the UK). Prof. Adesina is a specialist assessor for promotion exercise at many reputable institutions and disciplinary accreditation to key engineering professional bodies worldwide. He runs an engineering consultancy in the Los Angeles area, California and has worked widely with the energy, petrochemical, wastewater and biological processing industries in Australia, South-East Asia and the Middle East.
Soji is a widely travelled speaker in Christian theology and practice across major church denominations and has obtained a Master of Divinity from the respected Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California, USA. He has also served on the board of a Sydney Christian radio station and in advisory capacity to interdenominational Christian organizations in Nigeria, Canada, Australia and USA.
