Our Foundation recognises the importance of timely access to modern healthcare facilities by all and the cost – financial, emotional and social – of inability to access healthcare services when needed. Self medication and patronage of quacks can lead to irreversible damage to health and ability to contribute to economic development or support one’s family. The problem of lack of access or inadequate access to healthcare services are more pronounced in the rural areas. We shall therefore give quality attention to supporting Primary Health Care facilities to be able to carry out their functions. Source for and deliver to the facilities equipment, appliances and other supplies they may need but lacking. We want to make it convenient for medical and health officers to operate in the rural areas. Identifying the challenges they face and helping them overcome them, will also receive attention from us and our donors. Provision for tele-medicine and training of community leaders will also get attention.
We shall work with communities to promote healthy living and lifestyles to reduce pressure on the overstretched healthcare system. Community birth attendants and private hospitals which are critical to the well being of members of under-served communities shall be provided with support.
